Hamdan Medical Award participates in the “Regulation of Scientific Research Forum” 09 December 2015
A delegation from the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (HMA) has participated in the "Regulation of Scientific Research Forum" organized by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in the headquarter of the ministry in Abu Dhabi, and headed by Dr. Husam al Ulama, the Director of the Scientific Research Department.
 
The delegation included Abdullah Bin Souqat, a member of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Shereen Hamada, Senior Scientific Coordinator, and Nirmal Rajah, from the Award’s Research Support Center.
 
After attending the forum, Abdullah bin Souqat spoke about the importance of the participation in such an important event, which is considered a good opportunity to exchange ideas and views with a number of prestigious research institutions within the UAE. He pointed out to the importance of the coordination with the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in putting the goals and visions to ensure its conformity with the real requirements of the scientific research within the UAE in order to achieve the excellent performance in all of its sectors and institutions.
 
“Since its establishment in 1999, HMA has supported the UAE scientific research in the medical sector. Through its research support center, HMA supports in each term a number of value scientific researches by outstanding academic and research centers”, he added.
 
“The forum discussed many important issues, mainly the unification and development of policies of the research centers within the UAE, and develop an integrated action plan to identify the required areas of scientific research”, he said. 
 
“Also, the Forum reviewed the issue of partnerships with the private sector and donors to finance the creation of new research centers, and cooperation and accreditation partnerships with global research centers to share researches and experiences, and to attract international centers and researchers”, he added.
