The ninth UAE cancer congress begins under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum. 09 October 2017
Dubai-October2017: Under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of Dubai Health Authority, and with the support of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Award for Medical Sciences, the ninth UAE cancer congress began in the presence of H.E Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami, Chairman of the Board and Director-General of Dubai Health Authority (DHA), H.E Abdullah Bin Souqat the Executive Director of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, and Dr shaheenah Dawood, president of the UAE Cancer Congress
 
H.E Humaid Mohammad Obaid Al Qutami said that DHA is integrating a new strategy to be announced in the coming period which aims to reduce the spread of cancer and to actively participate in the research, prevention and diadnosis, and treatment of the disease. He also pointed that DHA is hosting and organizing conferences such as these to bring together international and regional experts and to provide a platform to discuss the latest advances in research and treatment of the disease.
 
Dr shaheenah Dawood, president of the UAE Cancer Congress, said: “Our goal is to promote the oncology community in partnering, learning and building collaborations to allow for progress in research and build initiatives to effectively combat this disease in our region.”
 
She added that the congress has always strived to ask important questions and bring key opinion leaders from the health-care sector, government and industry to answer and address the issues.
 
The UAE Cancer Congress will present 14 different oncology subspecialties focusing on uterine cancer and neck cancer, breast cancer, GI cancer. The congress will be held with the participation of 200 faculties from across the globe who will be sharing the most recent update and breakthroughs in the management of cancer.
