Under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid AL Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance and President of Dubai Health Authority, and with the support of the "Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences", the 19th Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology congress (APLAR) will be held from the 17th to 20th October 2017 at Dubai World Trade Canter. This event is considered the biggest regional events in the field of Rheumatology. 

 

Dr. Waleed Al-Shehhi, consultant of rheumatism, head of the Emirati Society of Rheumatology and president of the conference said, that Aplar has gained a great reputation as a distinctive platform for innovation and exchanging the most advanced scientific and clinical information in the world of Rheumatology, since its establishment in 1963.

 

Dr Waleed further pointed out that the conference is providing a challenging scientific program in the form of plenary lectures, scientific sessions; interactive symposiums, which will be conducted by a galaxy of expert speakers who will discuss the latest updates in Rheumatology. 

 

APLAR 2017 is expected to attract the highest attendance on an international and regional level with its prominent history of attendance over the past four years; as participants reached high figures from 2580 in 2013 in Indonesia, to 2850 in 2014 in the Philippines, 3,000 in 2015 in India, and 3100 in 2016 in Shanghai.

 

On his part, Mr. Abdullah Bin Souqat, CEO of Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences extended all the thanks and appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, President of Dubai Health Authority and patron of the Award for his valuable patronage of the conference and H.H continuous support to the Medical Education activities that contribute to the establishment of research infrastructure in the health sector in UAE.

 

H.E pointed to the Award leading role since its establishment in 1999 in developing the health sector locally and internationally by every means. The Award has been keen to support distinguished medical conferences, to endorse the medical research and honouring scientists and researchers in different medical specialties. 

 

He further indicated that the conference got the Award's special attention because of the shared interest as it will discuss the same topics selected for the 10th cycle of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Award for Medical Sciences; Musculoskeletal Disorders, Rheumatological Disorders, orthopaedic, orthopaedic mechanics. 

 

"Asia Pacific League of Associations for Rheumatology congress" is considered among the most prominent medical events in the region, being awaited year after year by the specialists in the field to benefit from its activities. The increasing figures of attendees from different countries bear witness to the uniqueness of the scientific content of the conference and the strong cooperation relations which were established with the international community concerned with the management of rheumatologic diseases.
