Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum: Launching of the 2nd Dubai Shoulder Course 19 April 2018

Under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and President of the Dubai Health Authority, the Emirates Orthopedic Society has organized the 2nd Dubai Shoulder Course, which is taking place from the 19th to the 21st of April at Mohammed Bin Rashid University at Dubai Healthcare City. The course is expected to host over 300 orthopedic and trauma surgeons, physiotherapists, nurses, and technicians based in the UAE and Middle East. Moreover, representatives from major manufacturing companies of medical equipment used in the treatment of shoulder injuries will be present at the course. The Ministry of Health has accredited lectures with 15.5 Continuing Medical Education hours, and medical workshops with 18 CME hours.

Dr. Saeed Al Thani, consultant in Orthopedics, Arthroscopy, Sport Medicine and Joint Reconstruction, and Chairperson of the Emirates Orthopedic Society, commented: “The participation of elite medical professionals from prestigious and world-renowned organizations provides opportunities to all attending this course to gain valuable medical knowledge. The course will discuss treatment options for various orthopedic conditions.”

He added: “The purpose of these lectures is to encourage the enrichment of scientific knowledge through discussion of the many challenges orthopedic specialists face today. Other topics to be discussed throughout the course include shoulder arthroscopy, arthroplasty, fracture management, complex shoulder etiologies and prosthetic surgery. 25 discussion sessions, 50 lectures and 5 clinical workshops

The course aims to portray Dubai as a regional and global platform for the medical sciences, to emphasize the importance of continual progress and development in medical practice and treatment options, and to create an environment that nurtures physicians’ personal development, in order to make top quality healthcare accessible to all factions of society.”
