Winfocus Conference launching its events 22 February 2019
Dubai-22February: The Fifteenth World Conference of Winfocus was launched yesterday, held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance and president of Dubai Health Authority, with the support of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences.  The conference was attended by over 600 doctors, nurses, consultants, and technicians from the UAE and the Middle East, and 15 of the most important companies of the pharmaceutical industry and medical devices that deal with ultrasonic waves, at Le Meridien Dubai.
 
During his speech, HE Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences mentioned, "The establishment of such conferences is a great opportunity for specialists in the health sectors inside and outside the country to share experiences and learn the latest technologies that scientists have reached in all fields of therapeutic medicine and scientific research."
 
His Excellency stressed that all the achievements of the Award are from the activities of HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and in accordance with His Highness's directives, which aims to improve the health sector and scientific research within the country.
 
Dr. Arif Hussein, President and Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Conference said “The scientific program of the conference included many sessions and lectures that discussed the most vital and challenging issues faced by doctors, the most prominent of which is the subject of ultrasound for pediatrics and preterm, and a course in the basics of imaging ultrasound on the lung and heart, in addition to a number of courses that are taught for the first time in the region".
 
Dr. Richard Hopman, President of the Winfocus Foundation, Thanked His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum for his support of the conference. He also expressed his gratitude to the UAE and its government and people for making this meeting possible in Dubai.
 
For his part, he thanked Dr. Ziad Al-Rayes, the local president of the conference to select Dubai as a regional center recognized for education and training, which in turn will improve the state of diagnosis and treatment of critical cases.
 
He added, “The four-day conference will include theoretical lectures, training workshops, presentation of state-of-the-art medical diagnostic devices and panel discussions that will bring together a group of colleagues and practitioners to brainstorm on the latest global innovations and best practices.”
