20th August2019: Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Dubai tourism, which aims to support and promote the efforts and objectives of the Award to achieve positive and sustainable change in the health sector in the UAE.

 

The aim of the MOU is to enhance the cooperation between the two sides and to exchange experiences by hosting and attracting international conferences to Dubai, and to promote the advancement of research and scientific institutions nationwide.

 

Representing  the Hamdan Medical Award, the MOU was signed by H.E Abdullah bin Souqat Executive Director of the Award. It was also signed by Mr. Ahmad Khalifa AlFalasi - Chief Executive Officer of Corporate Services and Investment, Dubai Tourism.

 

Abdullah bin Souqat, said that this mutual cooperation is in line with the directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, Minister of Finance, and Chairman of the Dubai Health Authority, about the necessity of strengthening cooperation with national institutions concerned with making Dubai a tourist destination for all international conferences, which in turn works to exchange scientific expertise and then upgrade scientific research and health sector in the country.

 

 “I am so grateful for this cooperation. We will prepare a periodic map of the joint scientific activities and events whose aim is to Increase the flow of international and local conferences within the UAE”,  he added.

 

On his part Issam Kazim, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Tourism and Commerce Marketing, said: “As an important partner for a number of years now, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences has played an instrumental role in developing the network of medical experts that Dubai Business Events has been able to work with to attract more conferences and other business events to Dubai. Formalising this relationship through this Memorandum of Understanding will further enhance these synergies and strengthen the Al Safeer Congress Ambassador Programme, as we all work towards enhancing Dubai’s status as a global knowledge hub.”
