Hamdan Medical Award to Organize Webinar Series on Non-Communicable Diseases 27 September 2020
Dubai-27th September 2020: The Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences is organizing a series of public webinars that will discuss a range of topics related to non-communicable diseases. The series will feature a group of distinguished doctors within the country in the field of non-communicable diseases who will share their experiences with the participants in the webinar.
The first webinar in this series is being held in cooperation with the pharmaceutical company, Novartis, and will be targeted towards the general public. This cooperation is a part of the implementation of UAE’s strategy to strengthen partnership with private institutions. 
The webinar will be held on Tuesday, September 29th, 2020, at 7:00 PM UAE time. Entitled “Living with Heart Failure”, this webinar coincides with the celebration of the International Heart Day. Heart failure is a chronic, progressive condition in which the heart muscle is unable to pump enough blood to meet the body`s needs for blood and oxygen.
The webinar will host a talk from Dr.Arif Abdullatif Al-Mulla, Chair of the SEHA Cardiac Council and Division Chief of Adult Cardiology at the Sheikh Shakhbout Medical City, and will be moderated by Dr. Nooshin Bazargani, Consultant Cardiologist, and Vice President of the World Heart Federation, as well as Chair of the CVD prevention working group of the Emirates Cardiac Society.
His Excellency Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Award, praised the topic of the webinar and the idea of making it for the public audience, enabling the participation of all groups in the community and the chance for them to make direct inquiries to the lecturers. All this, while adhering to safety standards and in line with the UAE`S strategy to maintain social distancing to limit the spread of the novel COVID-19 virus.
He emphasized that the invitation to attend this webinar will be general and free of charge for all institutions and individuals, and this series of webinars will include many important topics presented by a group of specialized lecturers
