Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU), which aims to support and promote the efforts and objectives of the Award to achieve positive and sustainable change within the health sector in the UAE.
Representing the Hamdan Medical Award, the MOU was signed by H.E Abdullah bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Award. It was also signed by Dr. Amer Ahmed Sharif, Vice Chancellor, MBRU, in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Al Hashimy Member of board of trustees of the Award, Prof. Zaid Hani Al-Baqa’in, Vice President for Academic Affairs at MBRU and Dr. Amer Al Zarooni, Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration and Professional Services at MBRU.
The aim of the MOU is to enhance cooperation between the two parties towards Supporting research in health in the UAE, supporting health education for UAE nationals, and Facilitating knowledge transfer.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Souqat expressed his happiness with this cooperation, noting that the two sides will prepare a distinguished set of important scientific activities which achieve the objectives of the Memorandum of Understanding. He also stressed that the award is always keen on enhancing cooperation with national institutions concerned with advancing scientific research and raising the health sector within the country, in order to achieve the vision of the Award's founder, the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
On his part, Dr. Amer Ahmed Sharif praised the MOU and the synergy and strengthening of cooperation efforts between the two sides in order to raise the level of health and scientific research in the UAE. He said, “This agreement enhances the existing cooperation between the Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences and the Mohammed bin Rashid University of Medicine, Health Sciences and Scientific Research. We also look forward to expanding horizons of cooperation between the two sides to achieve the goals of the UAE Advanced Science Agenda 2031, which aims to employ advanced sciences in development and innovation to create solutions to future challenges”.
