Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences is organizing a webinar series on the topic of ‘infectious disease’, where some of the winners of the 12th term of the Awards will share their diverse experience and knowledge with the participants.
The first of these webinars will be held on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023 at 6:30 pm, and will discuss the topic "The Elimination of Group A Meningococcal Meningitis from Sub-Saharan Africa: Lesson Learned". This webinar will feature a talk on the prevention of meningococcal infection and development of the Meningitis Vaccine by Prof. Marc LaForce, Clinical Professor of Medicine at NYU Langone School of Medicine and Director of the Meningitis Vaccine Project. Prof. LaForce is the recipient of the Hamdan Award for Medical Research Excellence on the topic of prevention of infectious diseases. The webinar will be chaired by Prof. Suleiman Al Hammadi, Dean of College of Medicine and Professor of Pediatrics at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences.
His Excellency Abdullah bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, said that the award has been working since its establishment in 1999 to support the health sector h and to enhance its ability to communicate with the scientific and academic community and specialists from all over the world. He confirmed that the Award will continue to work hard to achieve the visions of the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Founder of the award.
It is worth noting that the webinar series is open to the public and registration is cost-free for all institutions and individuals. The series will include many important topics presented by experts from all over the world. Registered participants will also receive CME hours. to register:
