The humanitarian efforts in the night of giving His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed AI Nahyan, has obtained the highest Merits from a number of countries, international organizations and bodies, in recognition of the achievements of what has been realized and the offered assistance, was meant to advancing the vulnerable and to support their cases in various areas of special humanitarian circumstances to support the call for the advancement of these groups and to reduce suffering and save Hula contribute to the improvement of fact, who relive, and the maintenance of human dignity.

 

Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed AI Nahyan has participated voluntarily in many humanitarian cases to help financially the patients, orphans and to science students to study further locally and within the Arab world. 

In his personal capacity he has participated on direct relief efforts in both Nigeria and Pakistan, in order to give a strong impetus for the vulnerable and to promote and highlight the values and concepts of volunteerism.

 

His unlimited support to the issues of the disabled had made a great impact on the improvement of the services provided, as it was his call to the necessity of indulging them in the community, the allocation of positions of special places and to provide safe corridors for the disabled in the markets and shopping malls as well as employment, sports and the community participation all over UAE.

H.H. contributed to the efforts of the State to protect and preserve the environment from pollution, the provision of drinking water in many regions of the state, most notably (Ras AI Khaimah - Ajman), and participation in the construction of dams. 

 

He was the first to call for the establishment of the National Committee of international humanitarian law in UAE, as well as his main role in the issuance of decree of the Council of the Ministers to form a committee to study the service needs of the inhabitants of remote areas in all regions of the state needs of remote areas and activate its role. 

The Red Crescent has gained a boost push when Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed took the chairmanship of the Commission, and properly guided to develop from a simple department to a commission precedes others in the disaster areas, conflicts, wars and provides aid and assistance throughout the world. 

H.H guidance has boosted the Red Crescent to develop a tremendous stride on the map of international humanitarian work, enhancing the prestige within the regional, Arab and international levels, and the rapid existence of the commission in the disaster areas, conflicts and the establishment of several projects to meet the consequences of disasters and crises to axiom of the work of the Commission and the expectations of affected and vulnerable. 

Red Crescent to the initiative and move quickly to provide help immediately after the disaster.

 

As one of the first duties of H.H in the Red Crescent is the dissemination of international humanitarian law and the definition of the same to a greater number of people by the confirmation of the common values to all human beings, which made the UAE Red Crescent places the first Arab and Asian second and fourth in the world. 

Under H.H presidency the Red Crescent had a strong partnership between the Red Crescent, the government and the private sector. 

This again led His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin layed AI Nahyan, to reach the highest level of merits from number of countries, international organizations and bodies, in recognition of the achievements of what has been realized and the offered assistance to the needy.

 

 

An international assessment of those medals was estimated as follows:

 

•    Granting of His Excellency President Pervez Musharraf the Pakistan's Crescent Medal (the highest Order of Pakistan) to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin layed AI Nahyan, in March 2008 in recognition and gratitude for his role in the consolidation of the fraternal relations between the two countries. 

•    The United Nations in 2008 has awarded a gratitude shield to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin layed AI Nahyan, in recognition of his role in the promotion of humanitarian action. 

•    United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), has honoured Sheikh Hamdan bin layed AI Nahyan in 2002 in recognition of and gratitude for his sincere efforts in environmental protection and combating desertification and the deployment of green areas, and to harness all the possibilities available for the protection and preservation of the environment. 

•    The Iraqi Red Crescent Society has given its Golden Medal to His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin laved AI Nahyan, in recognition of his great efforts to aid the Iraqi people and help them during the year 2003.

•    The Arab Towns Organization honored His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin laved AI Nahyan, and has chosen him on 1998 to be given the award of the environment caller.

•    In 2001, the Arab Organization of Red Crescent and the Red Cross, 

has presented him the Abu Bakr Siddiq Necklace in recognition of his humanitarian efforts and strengthen the capacity of the Arab Organization on the performance of its role and mission.

•    The Arab Forum, held in Abu Dhabi on 2008, has honoured Sheikh Hamdan Bin laved AI Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Chief of the Red Crescent, the medal of the Knight of the benevolent of the tender recognition of his humanitarian efforts at all levels.

•    The International Fund for the Protection of Nature honoured His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin laved AI Nahyan, in recognition of his sincere efforts in the protection of the local environment and resources at Jrnin Island which allocated by His Highness for this purpose.
