Graduation Ceremony
Tuesday, 5th April 2005
At Semiramis Hotel, Cairo, Egypt.

The grand ceremony of graduation took place on Tuesday, 5th April 2005 in Semiramis Intercontinental Hotel in Cairo Egypt at 2.30 pm.

The 8 months long Diploma course was organized and conducted by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences in association with Bristol Myers Squibb Company Middle East from the American University in Cairo, Egypt.

The UAE Ambassador to Egypt, Mr. Ahmed Ali Nasser Al Zabi has presented the graduates the Diploma certificates in the grand ceremony. In the ceremony, Dr. Harry Miller, the Dean of the American University praised the graduates for their achievements in obtaining the Diploma and wished them all success. Mr. Chris Kartalis, the President of Bristol Myers Squibb Company talked about the success of this course by giving more importance to the joint venture relations tied between the two organizations.

In the occasion, Prof. Najib Al Khaja, Secretary General of the foundation in his concluding speech narrated about the beginning of the course, demand for enrolling in the course and the support given by the Bristol Myers Squibb Company team. He thanked the American University to bring such a professional diploma course, the team members of both the award foundation and the Bristol Myers Squibb Company for their joint team work in organizing and completing the course successfully. He has conveyed his special thanks to the tutor of the course, Dr. Medhat Swellium for his memorable efforts and praised him. Prof. Najib congratulated the graduates and stressed them to make use of the techniques in the management of their services to their departments, institution and ultimately to the patients. He ended the speech by saying that the success of this course is the success of the graduates and the foundation's effort in bring the CME activities based on the objectives of the foundation. The other diplomats who were attended the function was Dr. Mustafa Hassan, Vice President, Dr. Assem Al Akabawy, General Manager, Bristol Myers Squibb Company Middle East and the Members of the General Secretariat of the Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences.
