Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award forMedical Sciences will hold a Press Conference on Thursday, September 27, 2012to announce the names of the winners of the Award in its 7th term2011-2012, at 11AM at Cultural &Scientific Association in Al Mamzar, Dubai. The press conference is to beattended by local and international media institutions, the members of theAward’s Board of Trustees and Scientific Committee, senior officials of UAEMinistry of Health and Dubai Health Authority (DHA), alongside with the consulsof the countries of the winners.

 

Dr. Ahmed Al-Hashimi, a member of the Award’s Boardof Trustees, said that H. H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Rulerof Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance, President of DHA, and the Patron of theAward has previously approved the names of the winners of the Award in its 3categories including International Awards, Arab World Awards and UAE Awards.

 

"During the Press Conference, the details ofthe Award Ceremony on 10 December 2012, and 7th Dubai InternationalConference for Medical Sciences 10-12 December will be announced", Dr. ALHashimi added.

 

It is worthy to mention that, regarding to the InternationalAwards, Neonatal Medicine is the subject of Grand Hamdan Award in its currentterm, and Fetal Medicine, Nutrition in Infancy and Inborn Errors of Metabolismare the topics of Hamdan Award for Medical Research Excellence. The third Awardin that category is Hamdan Award for Volunteers in Humanitarian MedicalServices.

 

As for the Arab World Awards, it includes Hamdan Award forthe best medical college / institute or Center in the Arab world, awardedequally to two prominent institutions, and Hamdan Award for honoringdistinguished personalities from the Arab world, awarded equally to two distinguishedpersonalities.

 

The UAE Awards includes Hamdan Award for an OutstandingClinical Department in the Public Sector in UAE, Hamdan Award for HonoringIndividuals working in the Field of medicine and Health, and Hamdan Award forOriginal Research Paper published in Journal of Medical Sciences (whose namehas been changed to Hamdan Medical Journal (whose name has been changed to Hamdan Medical Journal), to the best two papers published in the journal from September2010 to March 2012.
