Al Khaja reviews the Award's Medical Research Grants activities 02 June 2012
Prof. Najib Al Khaja, Secretary General, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, met the members of the Scientific Committee of Research Support Centre at the Award's headquarter.
 
Prof. Al Khaja was briefed on the latest activities of the Committee which recently concluded its initial evaluation for 60 UAE research proposals, submitted to the Award in its 7th term 2011-2012, as a preparation to be evaluated by a panel of International Reviewers to select the best projects which is to be funded by the Award.
 
Al Khaja praised the efforts exerted by the Committee in encouraging scientific research within UAE. He referred to the Committee's request on increasing the budget of the center, currently stands at AED two million in each term of the award, to keep up with the increased concern with the scientific research within UAE and the increased demand on the Award's support.
 
On the other hand, the members of the committee praised the continuing support by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance, President of Dubai Health Authority and Patron of the Award. Also, they emphasized the highest standards of impartiality and transparency followed by the Award in evaluating the proposals.
 
The meeting was attended by Prof. Seham Al Dien Galadari, Chairman of the Committee, and the committee's members including Prof. Salah al-Din Al-Nagi Gharib Allah, Prof.  Frank Christopher Howarth, Prof. Youssef  Abdul Razzaq, Prof. Ernst Adijet and Dr. Ghazi Tadmouri.
