SHAMS participates in 10th World Congress in Fetal Medicine in Malta 16 June 2011
Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences (SHAMS) will participate in 10th World Congress in Fetal Medicine in Malta from 26 to 30 of June 2011. The conference is organized by The Fetal Medicine Foundation, and will be attended by 1500 doctors and health sector workers from 28 countries around the world. A high- level delegation, represents the members of the International Awards’ Scientific Committees, will attend the conference, and the Award will participate in the accompanying exhibition.
 
This was stated by Abdullah Bin Souqat, Executive Director of SHAMS, who said that the purpose of participating in the conference is to introduce the award’s new topics in its 7th term 2011-2012 to the participated keynote speakers and senior obstetricians, pediatricians and gynecologists to collect the biggest number of high standard nominations.
He added that, in the light of successive developments in the field of medical research, 10th World Congress in Fetal Medicine will enrich the scientific background of the award’s scientific committees’ members in that field of medicine.
 
"It is a part of a wide-ranging promotional campaign for the award’s topics locally and globally. During the current term of the award and within the international awards category, neonatal medicine has been selected as the topic of Grand Hamdan International Award, while Fetal Medicine, nutrition in Infancy and inborn errors of metabolism have been selected as the topics of Hamdan Award for Medical Research Excellence.", Bin Souqat said.
 
He added that, besides participating in important conferences, the award is keen on promoting for its new topics through traditional means of communication such as world newspapers, radio and TV and through modern means of communication like Internet.
 
It is worth mentioning that, recently, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences has announced that submitting the nominations is valid until the end of next November, including the International Awards, the Arab world Awards and UAE Awards.
