H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid celebrates with the Ministry of Finance winning the Mohammed bin Rashid Excellence Government Awards 20 May 2014
H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai delivered H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance 3 awards in three different categories of the Mohammed bin Rashid Excellence Government Awards, which are dedicated to the UAE Ministry of Finance. This came during the awards ceremony held at the Emirates Palace hotel in Abu Dhabi to honor the winning entities.
 
Among 493 participation forms from 38 federal government agencies, 15 of which are ministries and 23 federal agencies, the Ministry of Finance received 3 awards namely; Distinguished Ministries with Less than 900 Staff, Distinguished Federal Entity in Leadership and Distinguished Joint Government Projects.
 
On the occasion of this great achievement, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, participated in the ceremony held at the ministry of Finance headquarters in Dubai and attended by the ministry staff. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan urged all the employees to continue to perform in accordance with the best practices of government financial work, in order to carry out the tasks and responsibilities that are assigned to the Ministry.
 
During the ceremony, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum confirmed that such a success is a reflection of the employees' dedication and collaboration to achieve a sustainable and competitive environment. Also, he highlighted that the Ministry of Finance will continue to provide services while optimally utilizing government resources for the benefit of the UAE nationals and focusing on human resources at the ministry.
 
It is worth mentioning that the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award is a part of the "Sheikh Khalifa Government Excellence Program", which is the first integrated program of its kind. The program is a translation of the vision of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan for the UAE federal government to be one of the best governments in the world. 
 
The program aims to improve the performance of federal institutions and bodies through the activation and development of performance measurement tools through 4 main pillars namely; awareness, learning, knowledge transfer and building capacity.
