H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of Finance and the patron of Hamdan Medical Award approved yesterday evening the names of the winners of the 8th term of the Award 2013-2014.
This came during the reception for the representatives of the award’s Board of Trustees at the palace of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan, in Zabeel, included Engineer Eissa Al Maidour, Director General of Dubai Health Authority and Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Mirza Al Sayegh, a Member of the Board of Trustees and Treasurer, Prof. Najib Al Khaja, Secretary-General, Dr. Ahmed al-Hashemi, a member of the Board of Trustees, and Abdullah bin Souqat, the Executive Director.
During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum reviewed the names of the winners of the international awards, the Arab world awards and the United Arab Emirates awards, and their achievements at both the medical and humanitarian levels.
During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the preparations for the award ceremony and the 8th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences which are to be held in the mid of December. H.H. Sheikh Hamdan gave his directives to take all the necessary measures to hold these events in accordance with the significant status of the award.
Following the meeting, the members of the delegation expressed their appreciation to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan for his intensive follow up to the activities of the award. “Such great efforts have been positively reflected on the international status of the award which has become a matter of pride for every citizen within the UAE”, they said.
Professor Najib Al Khaja, Secretary General of Hamdan Medical Award announced that the names of the winners will be announced within the coming few days during the press conference to be held by the award with the participation of media men within the UAE.
“H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid will honor the winners during the award ceremony to be held on the 15th of December at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre”, Prof. Al Khaja said.
“The winners are the keynote speakers of the 8th International Conference for Medical Sciences. The conference will be held at AL Bustan Rotana Hotel on 16 and 17 December about drug discovery, vaccines, targeted therapy and cell therapy.
It is worth noting that the international awards include the Grand Hamdan Award, Hamdan Award for Medical Research Excellence and Hamdan Award for volunteers in humanitarian medical services.
As for the Arab world awards, they include the Hamdan Award for Medical College/Institute or Centre in the Arab world and Hamdan Award for Distinguished Personalities.
The UAE awards include Hamdan Award for Outstanding Clinical Department in the Public Sector, Hamdan Award for Outstanding Medical Personalities and Hamdan Award for Original Research Paper Published in the Hamdan Medical Journal.
