Hamdan Medical Award is to organize the 8th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences on the middle of December 18 November 2014
In conjunction with the award ceremony which is going to be held to honor the winners of the 8th term of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, the 8th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences will be held from 15 until December 17 at Al Bustan Rotana Hotel, Dubai. The conference gives the participants 18 CME hours, accredited from the United Arab Emirates University.
 
This was stated by Prof. Yousuf Abdul Razzak, the Chairman of the Scientific Committee who praised the high scientific level of the conference scheduled to discuss many important issues raised in the medical arena such as drug discovery, vaccines, cell therapy and targeted therapy.
 
“The conference speakers are pioneers in these medical disciplines and they are from 12 countries namely, the United States of America, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England, Germany, France, China, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arab Republic of Egypt and Liberia”, Prof. Abdul Razzak said. 
 
“The 8th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences includes 12 workshops scheduled to be held on December 15. These workshops will discuss accelerating the pace of scientific progress, drug discoveries: today’s realities and tomorrow’s vision, vaccine development in the 21st century, combination immunotherapy, nucleoside analogues as cornerstone in anti-viral therapy and working towards Ebola vaccine”, he added.
 
“Also, the workshops will discuss stem cells: from the bench to beside, immunotherapy for squamous cancers, multifunctional for cancer diagnosis and treatment, and cancer stem cells”, he said. 
 
“Regarding the scientific program of the conference, it will be held on 16 and December 17. Throughout 5 sessions, 22 lectures will be presented by a constellation of top scientists in these fields in addition to the winners of the Grand Hamdan International Award, Hamdan International Award for Medical Research Excellence, Hamdan International Award for Volunteers in Humanitarian medical Services, and Hamdan Award for distinguished personalities in the Arab world”, Prof. Youssuf Abdul Razzak said.
 
Prof. Yousuf Abdul Razak spoke about the lectures of the conference which will discuss progress in vaccination, drug discovery for Hepatitis, cervical cancer vaccine and HIV vaccine (AIDS). 
 
“Also, the conference will discuss Targeted Cancer Therapies, the future of cell therapy for Cancer, Imatinib as a paradigm of targeted Cancer therapies, Cancer stem cells targeted delivery of siRNA in vivo, Immunomodulatory antibodies for therapy of Cancer, using the Cell Therapy in the treatment of the symptoms of the body's rejection of transplanted tissues, and skeletal stem cells: basic biology and clinical use in tissue regeneration”, he added.
