Hamdan Medical Award supports the 6th RAKMHSU Students Scientific Conference 27 March 2015
Supported by Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, Ras al-Khaimah Medical and Health Sciences University (RAKMHSU) organized the 6th Students Scientific Conference, in the presence of Dr. Shereen Hamada, Senior Scientific Coordinator of Hamdan medical Award, and Dr. Abdul Razzeq Hamzeh, Senior scientific coordinator of the award’s Centre for Arab Genomic Studies (CAGS).
 
During the opening ceremony, Dr. Shereen Hamada delivered the award’s speech in which she stressed the keenness of the award to support the conference every year in order to encourage the university students to engage in the scientific research in order to support their research skills and to prepare them for work.
 
Speaking about the scientific program of the conference, Dr. Manal Mahmoud Sami, the head of the conference Organizing Committee and the Deputy Dean, Student Affairs, said that the 1st session included two lectures by Prof. Bassem Ali, from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAE University, and Professor Errol Bissell, professor of Genetics and a Counselor of the Dubai Health Authority.
 
“The 23 papers presented during the conference have been conducted by the students under the supervision of a constellation of RAKMHU’s professors. All the research proposals were scrutinized and approved by the Research and Ethics Committee of RAKMHSU and RAK Research Ethics Committee”, she said.
 
“The conference honored the best research papers presented as lectures in the field of the medical sciences as well as the field of health sciences, the best research papers presented as posters, and the best short video”, she added.
