H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid launches the 25th edition of Al Gaffal Race

H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Duabi, UAE Minister of Finance and the patron of AL Gaffal Race, launched the 25th edition of the annual traditional 60ft Dhow Sailing Race from Sir Bu Nuair Island with the participation of 120 dhows and in the attendance of Sheikh Said bin Hamdan bin Rashid al Makotum.
During the official launch of the race, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan was briefed on the arrangements for the race. He expressed his happiness about doubling the number of the participating dhows, and welcomed the racers from the GCC countries.
On the sidelines of celebrating the silver jubilee of the race, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan received a galaxy of media people in the yacht Fahidi. During an open interview, he answered inquires about some of the proposals put forward for the development of the race in its future sessions.
Also, H.H. Sheikh Hamdan answered questions about the local and the international horse racing and the local camel racing in addition to the sports clubs within the UAE. He spoke about the reality of these clubs and how to be developed and to improve the performance of its players.
