Supported by Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, RAK Medical and Health Sciences University (RAKMHSU) organized the first Research Methodology workshop, in association with RAK Research & Ethics Committee, RAK Medical District, and the Research and Ethics Committee of RAKMHSU. The workshop has been accredited for 5 CME hours from the UAE Ministry of Health.

 

Attended the workshop Dr. Shereen Hamada, Senior Scientific Coordinator, Hamdan Medical Award, Nirmal Rajah, the award’s Research Support Centre, and the representatives of the organizers.

 

The workshop was held with the participation of 6 post graduates from RAKMHSU, and the speakers included Dr. Sami Shabaan, UAE University, Dr. Nariman Ghader, UAE Ministry of Health, and Dr. Sanjay Kumar Sood, Professor and Chairperson, Department of Physiology, RAKMHSU, and the Chairperson, RAKMHSU Research and Ethics Committee.

 

Among the topics discussed were basics of writing research proposal, fulfilling the research ethics requirements, descriptive statistics, choosing the right study design, statistical inference, and inference tests.
