Dubai: Wednesday, June 8, 2016: Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences announced that the 9th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences (9DICMS) is going to be organized from the 14th till the 16th of December at JW Marriott Marquis Hotel, Dubai. The main topics of the conference are Gastroenterology, Colon Disorders, Liver Disorders, and Pancreatic diseases.

 

Abdullah bin Souqat, a member of the Board of Trustees of Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences, said that the 9DICMS will be held in conjunction with the award ceremony to honor the winners of the 9th term, 2015-2016, with the attendance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, the UAE Minister of Finance, the Chairman of Dubai Health Authority, and the Patron of the award. The ceremony is scheduled to be held on the 14th of December, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre.

 

“One of the main objectives of the 9DICMS is to maximize the benefits from honoring leading international scientists and researchers by giving the participants the opportunity to contact them closely and to take advantage of their expertise. Such a communication supports our goal of reaching the desired excellence in medical and health sectors locally, regionally and internationally”, he said.

 

“Alongside with the lectures and workshops to be presented by a galaxy of senior scientists, researchers, and specialists from all over the world, the 9DICMS allocates lectures for the winners of the International Awards namely; Grand Hamdan Award, on the topic of Gastroenterology, Hamdan Awards for Medical Research excellence, on the topics of Colon Disorders, Liver Disorders, and Pancreatic diseases, and Hamdan Award for volunteers in humanitarian medical services”.

 

“Also, the winners of the Arab World Awards will participate in the conference including the winners of Hamdan Award for the Best Medical College / Institute / or center in the Arab world, and Hamdan Award for honoring Distinguished Personalities from the Arab world”.

 

“The details of the winners’ lectures will be announced after the press conference to be held during the month of September to announce the winners of the award’s 9th term.

 

It is noteworthy that the Scientific Committee of the conference is headed by Prof. Hassib Narchi, Professor of Pediatrics and Consultant Pediatrician Department of Pediatrics, College of Medicine & Health Sciences, United Arab Emirates University, Al Ain. The committee members include Prof. Thomas Adrian from College of Medicine & Health Sciences, UAE University, Prof. Salah Gariballa from College of Medicine & Health Sciences, UAE University, Al Ain, Dr. Adnan Abuhammour, a member of the Board of Dubai Health Care City Authority, and Dr. Azzam Kayasseh, Specialist Hepato, Gastroenterologist and Digestive Endoscopist.
