Dubai-31 October 2018: Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences has announced that the 10th Dubai International Conference for Medical Sciences (10DICMS) is going to be organized and run from the 13th till the 14th of December at Roda Al Bustan Hotel, Dubai.

 

This was stated by H.E. Abdullah bin Souqat, Executive Director of the Award, who conveyed his sincere thanks and gratitude to H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, UAE Minister of finance, and the patron of the Award, for his continuous support to the medical sciences, especially to scientific research as well as scientists in general. He highlighted the importance of this support in building the infrastructure of scientific research within the health sector of the United Arab Emirates.

 

He added “The 10DICMS will be held in conjunction with the award ceremony to honor the winners of the 10th term with the attendance of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Patron of the award. The ceremony is scheduled to be held on the 12th of December, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The theme of the conference is Musculoskeletal Disorders, Rheumatology, Orthopedics & Orthopedic Mechanics; it has been decided that the conference will include a blend of international speakers in addition to the winners of the Awards.

 

The first day of the 10th DICMS will run a pre-conference workshop, the second day will be devoted to scientific lectures designed to be of great scientific benefit to all attendees, and which will discuss how recent advances in research have contributed to improved clinical care for patients. There is also an opportunity for all researchers, including medical students, trainees, and residents from the region and abroad to present their abstracts during the poster session. All accepted posters will be evaluated and there will be an award for the best poster of all four categories."

 

The Scientific Committee of the conference under the chairmanship of Dr. Jamal Al Saleh, Medical Director and Head of the Department of Rheumatology in Dubai Hospital include Dr. Saeed Al Thani, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, Mediclinic City Hospital, Dubai, Dr. Suad Al Hannawi, Consultant Rheumatology, Ministry of Health & Prevention, Dr. Eisa Al Hemrani, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, Mediclinic City Hospital, Dubai, Dr. Roy Abraham Thayil, Consultant Orthopedic Surgeon, Dubai Hospital as well as Dr. Sung Mun Lee, Asst. Professor, Department of Biomedical Engineering, Khalifa University, Abu Dhabi.
