Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 6TH December2019: Under the patronage of the Sheikh Hamdan Award for Medical Sciences, the 1st Dubai Dermoscopy Masterclass started its activities today at the Waldorf Astoria in DIFC.
Chairperson of the advisory programme committee, Dr. Faiza Al Ali, highlighting the agenda of the meeting said, “Dermoscopy is an art. It’s a simple yet sophisticated tool to evaluate the color and microstructures of the skin. The agenda is focusing on artificial intelligence which is leading the path of medicine today"
Commenting on the role of dermoscopy in the region, H.E. Abdullah bin Souqat said, "Non-invasive diagnosis and artificial intelligence are the future of health. As the city of Dubai, host of Expo2020, is preparing for improved healthcare, it facilitates advanced technologies. This is in line with the Dubai Health Strategy 2021 initiatives launched in 2016".
Offering 12 CME credits by the Dubai Health Authority, the Dermoscopy Masterclass is set to hold key debates and discussions on the extensive scope of Dermoscopy from equipment, diagnostic features, common and uncommon nevi, nonmelanocytic pigmented skin lesions, benign vs malignant skin tumors, new technologies, and trichoscopy among others.  The 1st Dermoscopy Master class is endorsed by the International Dermoscopy Society.
As continued research and development of noninvasive optical imaging techniques lead to advancements in the evolving field, examinations across the two-day programme will range from the importance of dermoscopy, predictive histopathology, the diagnosis of melanoma, tumor identification, inflammatory dermatoses, common inflammatory lesions, patterns of alopecia,  diagnostic challenges, and best practice on the ways to identify what requires further evaluation.
Participants will also have the exclusive opportunity to take part in an interactive one-hour case study session where insights and challenges of dermoscopic lesions will be discussed. The sessions are run by the renowned world experts, Prof.  Aimilios Lallas, and Dr. Zoe Apalla, from Greece.
