Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for Medical Sciences has decided to launch the 1st issue of its Quarterly Hamdan Medical Journal on 25th of March 2012. The first issue of the journal will focus on Breast Cancer, while the 2nd one, issued in August 2012, will focus on Diabetes Mellitus.

 

This came during the meeting of the Journal's teamwork, today morning, at the Award's Headquarter in Bur Dubai, headed by Prof. Harald Rosen, Austria, the journal's Editor in Chief and attended by Prof. Najuib Al Khaja, the Award's Secretary General, Dr. Ghazi Tadmoury Assistant Director of the Award's Centre for Arab Genomic Studies, Mrs. Pippa Smart Research Communication and Publishing Consultant, UK, and the staff responsible for the website of the Journal.

 

Previously, the Award's Board of Trustees approved to change the name of the Award's Journal of Medical Sciences, to Hamdan medical Journal to be issued in a new form and content, according to the latest systems used in medical Journals.

 

Beside publishing research papers and medical reports, the Journal will publish a selection of interviews with great scientists and physicians, in addition to the latest scientific news to enrich the knowledge of the visitors of the Journal's website.

 

It should be noted that the Journal's web site, www.hamdanjournal.org, is now an open access for everyone and the web portal is ready with OJS (open journal submission) system, through which any author can directly submit the article to the editorial office and would be reviewed and published online.
